carnival caricatures

Last friday it was carnival at my kids' school. I've been drawing free caricatures for one hour.
It was fun, there were all beautifully dressed up.
They're not all from school, last three are from a party a week earlier.

Your faces are amazingly animated, but I especially love your treatment of bodies. So much attitude!

Thank you!
I'm in a phase that I just want to draw how people are, how they are standing, leaning etc.

Dang it Marion, your party caricatures are so freaking good. I can't get my self to loosen up at work. Can I ask you who you learned caricatures from?

Wow, Anne, you make me blush!
What works with me when I want to loosen up: concentrate on the thought: Everything I am going to make is going to be shit, and when you really believe that, it sets you free! You have to try NOT to be afraid, just bluff your way out of the situation.
I remember a story, it's about James Dean. He was scared to death playing with Elizabeth Taylor in "Giant", and he said to himself: "OK, she is sitting up there in that car, I'm going over and pee on the sand just in front of that car, and when I've done THAT, I can be her co-star..."
Just something to remember perhaps when you're at a gig next tiem.....
