Boris Yeltsin

There was a contest at the forum of the NCN: draw Boris Yeltsin, and there was one limitation: no digital stuff.
I found it a fun challenge, having become totally digitalized the last few years.
So I went to van Ginkel in Arnhem and bought some gouache and this is what I came up with:

your pencil of yeltsin looks like the style of Bill Plympton. Are you familiar with his work?

Dooky, I know him slightly.
I bought a book in 1992:
"The complete book of caricature" by Bob Staake, with lots of caricatures from different american caricaturists, such as: Edward Sorel, Taylor Jones, Philip Burke, Robert Grossman, Robert Risko. Ans Bill Plympton as well.
I see what you mean by comparing me with his work, his way of crosshatching is kind a messy, just like the one of Boris
